KMFDM, an acronym for *Kein Mehrheit Für Die Mitleid* ("No Mercy for the Many"), is a multinational industrial band founded in 1984 by Sascha Konietzko in Paris. The band started in Germany before finding success in the United States thanks to the label Wax Trax! Records. In the 90s, their song *Juke Joint Jezebel* propelled them into the charts and onto several film soundtracks. Bands like Rammstein and Korn opened their tours. After a hiatus in 1999, KMFDM was reborn in 2002 with a new lineup including Lucia Cifarelli. The band returned to live in Germany in 2008. KMFDM has released 25 albums and numerous singles. Konietzko has remixed major bands like Metallica and Megadeth. The band's style, dubbed *Ultra-Heavy Beat*, blends metal, electro, and reggae, with politically charged lyrics. Their new album is scheduled for release in February 2026.
