HOT 8 BRASS BAND

The members of the Hot 8 Brass Band are worthy representatives of this particular musical movement so representative of New Orleans, and as such have participated in the series, which takes place in the city devastated following Hurricane Katrina.

Hot 8 Brass Band develops a particular and communicative energy, imbued with the cultural and social reality of their hometown through hip-hop and jazz. Inspired by the New Orleans tradition of “marching music”, the eight blowers and hitters of the Hot 8 constitute above all a funk fanfare, a hip hop clique also which sometimes falls into the drunk.

Percussive brass, pulsating skins, the Hot 8 Brass Band develops a buzz of magnetic harmonies nourished by a city with supernatural vibrations, a North American metropolis of black magic, turned towards the African Caribbean and funk.

Nominated for the Grammy Awards, they will also release a new album in November on the legendary English label Tru Thought.
