CARBON KILLER
On tour: yes
The French synthwave group Carbon Killer mixes different musical horizons with dark and cyberpunk aesthetics. After many years spent in post-rock, stoner or fusion projects, the individual behind the carbon mask began this project at the beginning of 2017. The first EP, entitled Carbon Inc., will be released in March 2018 on the label Lazerdiscs Records, and enjoyed some success in the synthwave music scene, particularly for the freshness of its song structures and the storytelling that emerged from it. In order to develop a real live experience, Carbon Killer has from its creation imagined a lore and a marked aesthetic, thus the project transformed into a trio during the summer of 2018 thanks to the collaboration of Théo Begue, drummer of the cinematographic metal group Hypno5e and Adrien Tisseraud, of the electronic music group Taylorythm. From this collaboration will be born Midnight Mass, a live album summarizing the 70 dates and multiple tours in Europe that the group will carry out for more than a year. Carbon Killer will also release Divided We Fall in May 2020, a compilation of remixes and b-sides initially released as a secret album for early fans. After two years on the road, Carbon Killer is focusing on the writing and production of its very first studio album, awaited and requested by its audience since the very beginning of the tours. Here then in December 2020 is VR SUN, an 8-track album whose aesthetic pushes the boundaries of the ultra-codified genre of synthwave to its ultimate limits by happily integrating elements from djent, trap, post-rock and vaporwave. , occasionally collaborating with renowned musicians such as Mattrach or Dan Terminus. It is always with the same desire to mix fragile, violent and always dancing atmospheres that Carbon Killer is launching a brand new show in 2021, Under The Sun.
